About Us

I am Margie Figueroa. I am a certified teacher, wife, and mom of two residing in sunny Miami, Florida.

I discovered early on as a child that teaching was something I wanted to do when I "grew up." I have a passion for educating children and love watching them grow as lifelong learners. I  believe in making every child feel valued, heard, and loved. It is the driving force of my teaching and the key to a student's success.

I received my teaching degree from Florida International University in Early Childhood Education with an ESOL Endorsement. I later became certified in the areas of Elementary Education, Gifted Education, and Reading Education. I taught for 13 years serving various grades, subjects, age groups, and ability levels. I also spent 1 year as an Instructional Reading Coach supporting other educators in teaching early reading and comprehension through professional development, curriculum mapping, lesson planning, modeling, data analysis, and classroom support.

I am now the Founder and Lead Teacher of Funshine Educational Services since 2022. I am extremely proud of the impact Funshine is making on the families we are serving as we put love and fun at the forefront of our services and I am excited for what's to come!
